The McGilvery House

......McGilvery House was built in 1863 by Captain William McGilvery, and is considered one of the best examples of Victorian Mansard architecture in Maine. It is on the National Register of Historic Places, and is in the East Side Historic District.

......The Captain's granddaughter opened the House to guests in 1935. Its spacious rooms and parlors, and sumptuous continental breakfast have helped to make McGilvery House a retreat for discriminating travelers ever since.
