The South Coast region of Maine blessed with miles of flat, white sand beaches. From the tip of southern Maine up the coast into the Midcoast Region, summer resort towns support a large influx of summer tourist ready to catch some rays along Maine's beautiful coastline.

> The Yorks:


Long Sands Beach:
The world's largest collection of beautifully restored antique electric trolley cars are on display and open to the public.
Facilities: Parking, lifeguard, concessions
Open: Memorial Day to Labor Day

> Ogunquit:

Oqunquit Beach:
Ogunquit Beach, 3.5 miles of silky soft white sand and invigorating surf nestled in a backdrop of undulating dunes. Swim it, sun it, run it or walk it, Spring, Summer or Fall.

> Wells Area:

Wells Beach:
Very fine white sand comprises Well's beaches which are wide and flat, providing areas for walking, running, or sand castle building. Life guards are on duty for your protection.
Facilities: Parking (fee), lifeguard
Open: Memorial Day to Labor Day

> The Kennebunks:

Kennebunk Beach:
Offering wide, sandy beaches, this beach is a perfect place to walk, sun bath, play in the surf, hunt for sand dollars or simply relax. On the Fourth of July, fireworks explode overhead. Day and seasonal parking passes are available through the local chamber, police station or many accommodations and businesses.
Facilities: Permit parking, lifeguard, rest rooms

Goose Rocks Beach:
Located north of Kennebunkport Village. At 3 miles long, Goose Rocks Beach is a favorite with walkers as well as the sand pail set. It's wide, smooth and sandy, and affords wonderful views of Eastern Goose Rocks and Timber Island, just off the coast. Same permits required as at Kennebunk Beach (above).

> Old Orchard Beach:

Old Orchard Beach:
An extremely popular summer destination each year, Old Orchard's summer population increases to well over 100,000. Their fine sand beach is also a stop on the Professional Beach Volleyball Tour. Competitions are scheduled throughout the summer.
