The Penobscot Theatre Company offers a variety
of educational outreach programs for students, teachers and
families. Some of these popular activities include:
"Shakespeare in the Schools" touring
project
- A professional actor and or a certified teacher offer a
hands-on residency that brings Shakespeare into classrooms all
across northern Maine.
- Summer Creative Arts Workshops
- Several sessions are held each summer. From acting to tech,
these active workshops put kids in the spotlight of fun.
- "A Midsummer Night's Dream "
Touring Program
- A 90-minute adaptation of Shakespeare's classic available
for performance at your school, March through May. Tour dates
still available. For details, contact our Education Coordinator

- Intern Programs
- We offer this intensive projects for students seriously
interested in a career in professional theatre.
- Student Matinees
- Many shows in our subscription season are also offered as
daytime matinees for students. Schools receive group discounts,
and meet-the-theatre talks are often included in the package. A
great complement to any curriculum.
- Educators' Workshop
- Beginning in 1998, this is a special introduction to
teaching Shakespeare for teachers and educators in connection
with the Maine Shakespeare Festival.
