With so much to do, even fours seasons aren't enough

Wilderness BeautyALL YEAR - This area is a nature lover's dream. You can bike, hike, boat, fish, golf, climb, swim, ski or snowmobile. There is so much to do. And if you are into the pursuit of quieter things, the area is full of antique and craft shops and nearby outlet stores. Or perhaps you'd like to visit some of the lovely New England villages with historical homes, gardens and museums. Cruise on the Songo Queen! Travel the lake down to the locks and back. A peaceful way to spend the afternoon. If you are a rock hound you'll love it here. There are nearby mines and shops to delight you.

FALL offers an unbelievable foliage season. Start with views of Beaver Pond right here, and Pleasant Mountain. Then drive in just about any direction and savor all the beauty. If you are here in October, take in the Fryeburg Fair. It's the state's largest. It's old-fashioned fun and not to be missed.

Excitment Keeps You WarmWINTER is wonderful with alpine and cross-country skiing, ice fishing, dog sled races, snowshoeing, or just sit by the fire in our fireside lounge and watch the snow fall. Shawnee Peak Ski Resort, which is New England's largest Night Skiing facility, is just 5 minutes from here.

Any time of the year there are day trips from here that can't be beat -- The Old Port in Portland, Whale or Puffin Watching, and lighthouses along the coast. In the other direction are the White Mountains and Mount Washington.

This truly is a 4-SEASON wonderland! Tell us what you like to do and we can head you in the right direction.
