Joshua Schmersal is a Maine native who is an actor, singer, director and private voice instructor. He currently serves as Vice-President of Ten Bucks Theatre. Josh holds a degree in Music Performance from the University of Maine where he was actively involved in the performing arts. He has performed such roles as Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar, Eddie in the Rocky Horror Show, Hysterium in Forum and Schroeder in Charlie Brown. Other regional theater credits include: George in Don’t Dress for Dinner and Luther Billis in South Pacific at Cortland Repertory Theatre, New York, Calvin in Guys and Dolls, and Uncle Thomas in The King & I at Rochester Opera House in New Hampshire.

In addition to his theatrical endeavors, Joshua also served as the assistant conductor for UMaine’s Oratorio Society Choir and was member of the University Singers with whom he has toured Europe. Joshua is currently the director of the Bangor Community Chorus and has directed numerous theatrical and musical productions around the greater Bangor area. Josh has an active, private voice and acting studio in Maine and is a sought after clinician, director and performer in his community.
